TalyorMade Penta Golf Ball The TaylorMade Penta TP golf ball is the first five layer tour golf ball. This ball is the product of 3 years of engineering and is designed to maximize performance throughout your entire club lineup. Each layer is constructed with different compression characteristics
Cover: soft urethane material delivers a higher-spin rate with a lower trajectory (launch angle) on wedge shots and pitches for more control
Outer mantle: the most-easily compressed, fastest layer designed to create optimal spin and flight conditions as well as higher ball speed and increased distance
Middle mantle: semi-firm layer provides more control on mid-iron shots and prevents ballooning shots; designed to be compressible on shots with a ball speed between 120-140mph Inner mantle: designed to create high-launching, low-spinning shots with a ball speed between 140-160mph
Core: an extremely fast, low-compression layer activated by powerful, fast swings, producing higher ball speeds and less spin on drives for increased distance .LDP: Penta TP golf balls utilize TaylorMade “LDP” technology, an approach to ball aerodynamics designed to provide additional lift (and thereby, distance) on driver mis-hits; as well as a dimple pattern aimed at maintaining a straight line through the wind.
